From Middlebury to Kyoto in Two Weeks: A Sabbatical Success Story
I'm an assistant professor of Japanese Studies at Middlebury College. Right after the pandemic, I was on my sabbatical and I was getting desperate to go to Japan, but Japan still had its borders closed to foreigners. So, after they opened the borders, I had two weeks to arrange everything. I hadn't bought a ticket. I didn't know where I would stay. I just knew that I had to go to Kyoto and I started looking for accommodations. I looked and I looked and I looked, and eventually on the Kyoto University page, I found the link to SabbaticalHomes. In two weeks, I managed to find a colleague in the field of Japanese studies who teaches at the University of Jerusalem, and he had a house available for me; everything clicked in the most amazing way. And I have to thank these amazing people at SabbaticalHomes for this because it was a wonderful experience. I hope to get back there one day. Thank you!
