Victorian terrace house on Osney Island, 20 mins walk from City Centre

Beautiful small house. Even if it's an old house, it has all necessary amenities and is very cozy.

This is a lovely, peaceful and comfortable home in Oxford. We lived here from early September 2023 until mid-July 2024. The owners were so welcoming from the moment we arrived and with careful attention to our needs. Communications regarding the house were excellent prior and during our stay. We arrived with clothes, books, and laptops.. that is all one needed to live in this cosy home. The house is very well equiped with everything that you will need in the modern kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc... It was the perfect place to work during my sabbatical. The location in Oxford is superb to explore the city plus take day trips to London and elsewhere. Thank you for the opportunity to live on Osney Island, and meet the wonderful neighbors.

The fully furnished house on Osney Island was our home away from home for almost a year. It's an old house and there are sometimes things that don't work. But the landlady was always on hand and very concerned that everything was promptly repaired and/or fixed. Communication with her was excellent and we could always count on her support.

We also appreciated the proximity to the city, the train station, the bus stop and the grocery shop

Susanne and Paul were wonderful hosts that busy people on sabbatical can dream of. They gave us a warm welcome and generously provided a great welcome package and information enough to allow us to rest for a day or two before finding the right places for groceries, restaurants and even inspiring professorial discussion on areas of mutual interests and experiences about Oxford. The house was perfect for us to work, study and do virtual conferences during this once in a century pandemic. Susanne worked with us a team to address any unexpected issues with the heating and water. We became so enamoured of the house that it was difficult leave it at the end or our stay there. My wife, Liv, and I stayed in the house for 13 months from August 2020 to September 2021, a period dominated by lockdowns and working from home. The house has an excellent office room overlooking a charming garden. It is very well equipped - the kitchen, towels, bedware, etc., ready to be moved straight into. It is situated within walking distance to the city centre, close to the river Thames and nice walking and cycling areas. Osney Island is a vibrant community with a neighbourhood atmosphere, two nice pubs and a local newsletter. We had easy and pleasent communication with Susanne and Paul, they were always forthcoming when we had any questions. We have no reservations about recommending the house and Susanne and Paul as landlords.

This is a lovely and well-equipped house in a very nice part of Oxford. My wife and I stayed here for five months in 2019 and greatly enjoyed it, and also enjoyed getting to know the fantastic hosts, Susanne and Paul. In terms of shopping, it is a five minute walk to Waitrose and a little further to Aldi, and for transport it is five minutes walk to the train station and ten minutes to the main bus station. For getting around Oxford there are high frequency buses along the Botley Road, just a couple of minutes walk away, yet the house is far enough away to not hear any road noise. The Thames path and other cycling opportunities are only two minutes away. The house is very pleasant, with modern kitchen and modern bathroom, and large enough that we were able to accommodate some short-term guests.
