Peaceful accommodations, "single occupancy" with complete autonomy in private home: Pvt. 1 Bedroom, pvt. bath, kitchenette, pvt. entrance in the back garden adjacent to our historic 1920's California Bungalow. Lodgings are under an old California Coastal Oak tree which provides shade and dappled natural light. The rooms have lots of windows (with blinds for privacy). Many of our guests choose us because of our proximity to the The Huntington Library Botanical Gardens and Art Museum, Caltech, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Art Center and Occidental College. USC, CalState LA and the Santa Anita Arboretum are also within a few miles. It is a single story home located in a classic older neighborhood in the lovely, small community of South Pasadena. A perfect space for a quiet, single occupant looking for a short or long term stay, holiday or summer rental while visiting SoCal. The lodgings, located on a tree-lined street (used to be the main street in town), are completely furnished with a double bed (linens and towels included), desk/desk chair, bookshelves, a private kitchenette, private bath, walk in closet and access to the deck and garden (some call it an oasis). Amenities include free WiFi, kitchenette, double burner hot plate, microwave, small frig+freezer, coffee-maker (drip), toaster, electric water kettle, rice cooker, necessary utensils and shared laundry facilities. We love pets, but unfortunately they aren’t allowed. The neighborhood is peaceful, with quiet streets - perfect for daily strolling. There is a Trader Joe's just around the corner (an affordable gourmet neighborhood market). The Metro/South Pasadena Station is a 2 minute walk- 1-1/2 blocks away - which goes directly to Union Station and the FlyAway Bus stop to LAX with connecting lines to other parts of LA and the new LACMA (Los Angeles County Art Museum). The neighborhood offers the charm of South Pasadena’s quaint village, along with parks, a weekly Farmers Market every Thursday afternoon just down the street, and the Arroyo nature preserve with scenic trails. You'll also find a variety of restaurants, outdoor cafés, a local pub, yoga and fitness studios, tennis and pickle-ball courts, golf course, the community library, local Fremont Center Theater, banks, post office, the local high school's running track, and the YMCA. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy biking, jogging, and hiking in the nearby San Gabriel Mountains. Old Town Pasadena, with its shops, restaurants, and entertainment, is just two Metro stops away. Easy access to the 110, 134, 210 and 10 Freeways, 10-15 minutes drive to Caltech, JPL, Rose Bowl, Art Center, USC Keck Medical Center, Occidental College, CalStateLA, Pasadena City College, and East Los Angeles City College. Easy metro access to the Huntington Library, JPL (also shuttle service from Caltech), The Broad Museum, Downtown LA's vibrant Arts District, Grand Central Market, Hauser Wirth Gallery, MOCA, Disney Concert Hall, Music Center, and the Norton Simon Museum, It is a 30-40 minute drive to UCLA, LACMA, SoCal beaches and LAX (in good traffic). Overnight and long term street parking not included but is available through the City of South Pasadena for $30/month or $3 per day for 3 days. The total square footage is approx 400 sq ft. Ideal for a professor, academic researcher, professional or college student in need of a quiet place to work, study or relax while visiting. $2250/month = $75/day. Cleaning fee/$200 for 2 months - more than 2 months is $275. The lodgings are compact - best suited for one occupant. We do not provide accommodations for visitors or guests. Contract sent upon receipt of security deposit and approved booking.
