I'm Christian, an economist at UMass Amherst. I've been renting this cottage since September and have really enjoyed it: it's quiet, full of light, and the village center is right outside the door. I recently bought a house and will move there shortly so I'm looking for someone to take over the rest of my lease, through May 26, 2027. Because I'll be living just a few minutes away, I'm happy to show you the house in person or by video call, and to share local tips: where to shop, the best hikes and bike rides, and the easiest routes to the Five College campuses. I'll also make sure the handover is smooth, with utilities ready to transfer and a walk-through before you move in. What I'm looking for - A quiet, responsible tenant or couple who will take good care of the home. Visiting faculty, researchers on sabbatical, postdocs, graduate students and working professionals are all a great fit. - Someone looking for a stay through late May 2027. The start date is flexible, from about mid-November. - If you want to stay longer, this can be discussed with landlord. - No pets and no smoking, per the lease. - The owner must approve the new tenant, so you'll need to complete a short application with the owner's property manager. - Renters insurance is required. The house works well for one person who wants a separate home office, or for two people who each want their own floor.
