We're two artists running a small ceramics and textile business in the woods outside of Amherst. We are looking for someone to enjoy and look after our place while we are in Japan from December to June. Our house is simple, clean, and comfortable — we did most of the work on it ourselves, which gives the place a really special feeling. It's a great a place to live, but it definitely suits someone interested in living a little more rurally. Our property is 21 acres of woods off a dirt road, and it's a wonderful place to host friends, write quietly, or go on hikes. We're just a short drive from Cushman Market, so even though it's a rural setting, you can grab the basics in about five minutes. We have fiber-optic internet that's extremely fast and reliable, though cellphone coverage is spotty. The house is fitted with a solar array that drastically reduces utility costs, and it's heated with oil, which typically needs a refill every couple of months depending on how harsh the winter gets. There is a small cabin across from the house — it's well-insulated and a lovely place to host visitors, though whoever stays there would need to use the kitchen and bathroom in the main house. Lastly, there's a pavilion that's a great spot to look out at the woods and relax.

Comments: We are hoping to rent the space from Mid-December through May. Tenants willing to stay for the full term can pay a lower monthly rent than if someone wants only a small portion of that time.
Comments: We have a two year old, so there is a baby gate installed that can be taken down before move-in

Comments: There are inactive ceramic and textile studios on the property. While you may enter or pass through them, they are really just large workspaces when we aren't here.
