Beautiful sunny two-family fully furnished historic home with hardwood floors, lots of windows, plus outdoor space offers a room PLUS more for rent. I live here and occupy one bedroom and the other is a private guest room ideal for traveling medical professionals or those who work from home. You will be sharing this unit with me, however, I will be on the premises only 2-4 days per month as I also have a downtown apartment as a Faculty in Residence. You have your choice of private bedroom on the 2nd floor near the living areas or on the 3rd floor. In addition to the private bedroom, you have a private bathroom and a private flex room with desk and dresser that can serve as an office or den. You also have use of the shared spaces: a large living room with dining table, crown molding, built-in bookshelves, and cabinets, a fully stocked eat-in-kitchen, an additional flex room with desk and dresser, and a 600 square foot patio. There are energy efficient heat exchange pumps on the 2nd floor, solar panels, energy efficient windows and insulation, and air conditioning window units for the 3rd floor. The bedroom and flex rooms are on the 3rd floor and the shared spaces and bathroom are on the 2nd floor. Laundry is in the basement. Quiet hours respected as I keep a calm and respectful home and there are tenants that occupy a separate 1st floor apartment. The house is situated in Marble Hill, a charming and unique neighborhood in the northwest of Manhattan. It is still “old New York" here, with traditional kosher Delis, Russian & Polish supermarkets and diverse restaurants in nearby Riverdale, Latin restaurants in nearby Kingsbridge, and New American and farm to table in nearby Inwood. A 10-12 min walk takes you to Inwood Park, which is the only old growth forested park in Manhattan and a 20-minute walk bring you to Van Cortlandt Park, the largest green park in NYC with full golf course and outdoor swimming pool. The magnificent bike lane that stretches along the edge of NYC, following the Hudson River runs right through the neighborhood and Citibike is one block away. The house is a 5-min walk from Broadway & the 225th street subway stop on the 1 line, and the very fast and convenient Metro North Commuter Rail stop is a 2-block walk from the house. The Metro North gets you into Grand Central in approx 20 min. It also stops in central Harlem, on 125th St, approx 10 min away. A super Target, multiple grocery stores including an Aldi, PureGym and Planet Fitness are a 5-10 minute walk. The home is also a 20-min walk to Manhattan College and public transit accessible to many campuses and hospitals (15 min/Columbia University Medical Campus, 30 min/Columbia University, 20 min to midtown, and 45 mins to NYU, 60 min to Sarah Lawrence College). Google “Marble Hill” to find out about the wonderful history of this hidden gem of a neighborhood! Rent is $2800 a month and includes Wifi and utilities up to $350 on average a month (gas, electric and hot water). Cleaning services can be negotiated. Parking is negotiable if longer stay for $250/month. Renters Insurance including $100K liability is required (~$15 a month). Happy to provide a video walk through, or onsite visit, and address any questions. Please see the link at the bottom for images of the interior and room dimensions
