Two things make our home a special place to be - our location with both central Cambridge and pretty fields on our doorstep, and our funny, affectionate cat Lola. Our house backs onto one of Cambridge’s best-loved central green spaces running along the River Cam, Stourbridge Common. Known for its gentle cows, huge skies, playground and misty mornings, walking or cycling out onto the river path feels like being in the countryside. Turn right along the river and you can cycle or stroll to quaint pubs and forests. Turn left, and you reach historic central Cambridge’s cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, colleges, departments and station (25-35 min on foot, 5-10 min cycle), with speciality coffee cafe/bakery Kerb Kollective en route. Inside we have a functional kitchen with a breakfast table, and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. We have a tastefully decorated large living room, with an office nook with standing desk - and many toys stashed away in storage solutions (if you like Lego you’ll be in for a treat). The sunny dining room/ garden room doubles up as a nice space to work - or let children do messy play. The WiFi internet is excellent throughout. Upstairs is a family bathroom and 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super comfy double, and wardrobe space. In the second double bedroom we have a single bed and a pull out extra single, and a home working space with a desk and ergonomic chair. Our three year old’s bedroom is the little single, with a children’s bed (aged 3-10). Lola is a cat lover’s dream, and child-friendly (in fact we defy anyone to not fall in love with her). It’s key you’re a cat-enthusiast - your stay includes feeding, petting and offering a lap to her. The price is accordingly lower. We moved into this modern semi detached house last year, and are gradually adding colour and features (so some spots may have more character by the time you stay). The large garden is also currently being transformed, in time for summer sunbathing and barbecues. Beyond the house, Cambridge North station (20min walk, 5min cycle) gets you into central London in just over an hour. Aldi, Tesco, and a large retail park are under 5 minutes walking. We are lucky enough to have the nicest, most considerate neighbours - it’s a very quiet, peaceful spot. Behind the house we have our own private off-road parking space you can use, and there’s the option to rent our bikes separately too.

Comments: We love having both a pretty riverside walk (25-35min) or cycle (5-10min) to central cafes/restaurants/shops/colleges/departments/station - AND living right by countryside. Walk a few min for rural walks/pubs/playground (+ top cafe Kerb/Aldi/Tesco).
