We are an Israeli academic couple, no children, looking for a furnished apartment in Paris for a sabbatical year beginning August 2026 (minimum 10 months, flexible on exact dates). He is a professor of art history on sabbatical research leave. She is a novelist and literary translator (Romanian and English to Hebrew), working on her second novel and translation projects. We are quiet, responsible, and deeply respectful of the spaces we inhabit. What we are looking for We need at minimum: a living room, one bedroom, and a dedicated workspace (a second bedroom, a study, or a quiet alcove). We are very happy to consider larger apartments – 2 or 3 bedrooms are equally welcome. Important to us: natural light, a quiet street, and proximity to public transport. A well-equipped kitchen is a real plus – we love to cook at home. We do not need a luxury space – we need a functional, comfortable home that supports focused work. Preferred neighborhoods 20e arrondissement, Le Marais, Latin Quarter, République area – or anywhere well-connected by metro or bus. We are open to other neighborhoods if the apartment fits. Practical details Arrival: August 2026 (flexible) Duration: minimum 10 months No children, no pets Non-smokers Floor: up to 3rd floor without elevator (higher with elevator is fine) In exchange We are offering our own home in Jerusalem for exchange or rent: a private house with garden and parking, 5 bedrooms, 140 sqm, including a safe room (mamad).
