We are offering our family home in Ocean Grove as a rental while we are based in Melbourne for a period. The house is well suited to visiting academics, researchers, or professionals seeking a calm residential setting surrounded by nature and leafy outlooks, with access to beautiful Australian coastal scenery and convenient proximity to Geelong (approximately 25 minutes) and nearby universities. The home is a two-storey, modern, architect-designed house set among trees in a quiet residential street. It is light-filled and private, with a strong connection to the surrounding greenery. The upper level contains the main living areas as well as the master bedroom with ensuite, creating a sense of elevation and outlook into the surrounding trees. This level includes the primary living, dining, and kitchen spaces, which open onto a deck overlooking the treetops, and is furnished for everyday living rather than short-stay accommodation. The lower level includes the second bedroom, second bathroom, laundry, and an additional room that can be made available as a third bedroom if required (by arrangement). This layout works well for individuals, couples, or a small family, offering good separation between shared living spaces and additional sleeping areas. The home is fully furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen, heating and cooling, and reliable internet suitable for remote work and study. One of the bedrooms can be comfortably used as a home office if preferred. The house includes two desks (one can be elevated for standing work), as well as an external monitor and computer chair, supporting longer periods of remote work or study. The property sits on a large block (approximately 1,000m²) with a spacious backyard, and includes two decks (one on each level) along with a covered outdoor area, providing multiple options for working, reading, or spending time outdoors. The house is a short walk (approximately 5 minutes) from Blue Lake and its surrounding loop track, which is popular for daily walks and morning runs. Surf beaches and more sheltered, family-friendly beaches are around a 5-minute drive, making it easy to incorporate the coast into everyday routines. While the immediate setting is quiet and residential, Ocean Grove and nearby Barwon Heads offer a wide range of cafés, restaurants, supermarkets, and everyday conveniences, all within a short drive. This provides a good balance between a peaceful home environment and easy access to dining, shopping, and services for day-to-day living. Geelong is approximately a 25-minute drive, making the location convenient for those affiliated with Deakin University or other Geelong-based institutions. Melbourne is around 80–90 minutes away by car. This is a quiet, residential home, best suited to guests who value a peaceful environment and will treat the house with care. It is not suitable for parties or short-term tourist stays, and we are seeking renters whose needs align with longer-term living, work, and research routines. Rent includes utilities (electricity, water, and internet) based on reasonable residential use.
