Description

Lovely, clean midcentury single-story home with real wood floors, abundant natural light, easy livable layout, and a brand-new custom kitchen. The place is furnished in mostly midcentury style with quality new and vintage pieces, a light minimalist touch, and a well-equipped cook's kitchen. There's a large primary bedroom with a cloud-like hybrid king bed, a sunny second bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, and a spacious office with a sliding door to the backyard and a foldout sofa/guest bed, which could also be used as a full-time bedroom. One bathroom has a full bathtub, the other has a shower; both have new tile floors and WaterSense toilets. The all-new kitchen is a joy to cook and hang out in, designed for maximum prep space and easy flow to the dining area and the outdoor covered portal (porch). The office has a roomy desk, a Herman Miller rolling chair, and a wall of built-in bookshelves (which we can clear for your full use.) Lots of closet and storage space throughout. Excellent LG front loading washer and dryer. Possible use or partial use of detached, insulated garage. Large open bonus room with Saltillo tile floor, skylight and separate exterior entrance may also be available--currently we've used it for light storage while renovating (thus not pictured), but it would be a great studio space for art, yoga, even a home office for visiting clients. We are a professor and former professor, both writers. We are fastidiously clean and take good care of our home and the things in it--this is our primary home, not a vacation rental--and we are seeking tenants who will treat it with equal care. We are experienced, well-reviewed hosts and landlords, responsive and responsible. We're a dog family ourselves and are open to hosting good dogs--contact us and we can work out the details. We'll tell you all the good walks and hikes nearby. The neighborhood is wonderful. Lots are large (half-acre +) and wooded, so there's plenty of privacy and space, and the street itself is well-packed gravel, so you feel like you're in the country even though any amenity you'd need (museums, the plaza area, restaurants, the farmer's market, the hospital, the airport) is 5-15 minutes away. At night, the sky is dark and starry. The Sangre de Cristo foothills are right there, with Sun and Moon Mountain just up the street and a beautiful endlessly walkable arroyo. The neighborhood is mostly longtime Santa Fe residents, lots of walkers and runners and dog people, a mix of artists and culture workers and retirees and professionals. The school district is the most highly rated in Santa Fe. The Santa Fe Swim & Tennis Club is a short walk. Museum Hill and all its institutions are an easy walk and even easier drive. St. John's College is very close, as are the School for Advanced Research and Center for Contemporary Arts. The St. Christus Hospital and St. Michael's medical corridor are one mile away, a three-minute drive. Please feel free to write with any questions, to see additional pictures, or get a video walkthrough.
