Description

Danae Homes — The Harlem Collection (Sugar Hill • Monthly Stays) Where Roses Bloom After Dark. Inside a landmark 1890 Sugar Hill brownstone, I host a small collection of studio-style private TWIN rooms designed for study and rest. Think high ceilings, period crown molding, carved mantelpieces, vintage mirrors, and soft lamplight—old-Harlem character with modern, predictable standards. Private Rooms The Billie Holiday Room (huge and spacious, studio-style): Twin bed, dresser, lamp, night table, vintage mirror, Fire place, writer’s desk + fast Wi-Fi, seating nook, and a Wardrobe Gallery (original linen-press cabinetry; historic dumbwaiter sealed for display). The Nina Simone Room (serene and compact ~160 ft²): Twin bed, writing vanity + Wi-Fi, good closet, calm lighting. (No fireplace) All rooms are fully furnished, (twin size bed) with blackout curtains and a quiet palette for deep work and solid sleep. Shared Spaces — Boutique-Hotel Clean Hall Bathroom (just outside your door). We keep it hotel-clean with a visible tidy kit (EPA-listed spray, paper towels, squeegee), quick-dry mats, and a weekly deep clean. Clear etiquette keeps it fresh and fair. Communal Kitchen (down the hall). Fully stocked for real cooking: oil, core spices, coffee/tea, cookware. Labeled storage (pantry + fridge) means your shelf stays yours. Simple 3-step reset: cook → wipe → rack. House Standards (calm, predictable)     •    Monthly stays only (30+ nights); common 30/60/90-day terms     •    Quiet hours 10pm–7am     •    Utilities included • No smoking/vaping     •    No pets (assistance animals welcomed under Fair Housing/ADA; standard house rules apply)     •    Walk-up, 3rd floor, no elevator Location & Commute Set on a tree-lined Sugar Hill block in Hamilton Heights, the house is 6–8 minutes to the A/B/C/D at 145 St (and ~8–10 minutes to the 1 train on Broadway). Fast access to Columbia University, Teachers College, CUIMC, CCNY, with Mount Sinai Morningside and Harlem Hospital close by. Cafés, small markets, and Riverside & St. Nicholas Parks are within a short walk. It’s a rare blend of quiet residential feel and quick subway reach. Best Fit Visiting scholars, grad students, clinicians, and writers who value orderly shared spaces, a real desk, and a peaceful room to read, write, sleep, and repeat. If you keep early rounds or late labs, the rhythm here supports you. Notes (clarity first)     •    Private room, shared hall bath; no in-room cooking (use the shared kitchen)     •    Shared bath is typically used by 1–2 considerate residents depending on occupancy   Quiet. Historic. Immaculate. Welcome to Sugar Hill.
