We are a retired couple originally from Ireland but living in Australia for nearly 40 years. I (Bryan) have worked in business but more recently completed a PhD in Macquarie Uni and have done some postdoc work there. My wife (Carmel) has retired from nursing. We are travelling to Europe for the northern summer in 2026. Our house would suit a couple with or without kids. House if very child friendly. More details on house and neighbourhood. Comfortable spacious home in Epping. 20-minute walk to Epping town centre and Epping transport hub with train and metro services to city and beyond. 15 minutes to Eastwood town centre. Three km to Macquarie University. Easy access via metro to University of Sydney, UTS and Notre Dame. The Space About halfway between the multicultural suburbs of Epping and Eastwood our home is a peaceful retreat with all the modern comforts. Bedrooms & Workspaces: Two Queen bedrooms (one with ensuite toilet and shower) and one with a single bed. Desks in two of the bedrooms. Separate study with large desk, printer and monitor. High speed internet. (A fourth bedroom will be locked and be full of our stuff.) Kitchen & Living: Fully equipped kitchen: Electric cooktop, dishwasher, fridge, microwave etc. Open plan family room with dining table and with wall mounted TV. Doors opening to large back deck and garden. Second, more formal living area with dining table, TV and opening to front patio. Outdoor Living: Spacious back deck with gas BBQ and dining table for 6. Lush garden with flower beds and lawn. Front poach has cozy seating and views across the garden onto native bushland. Comfort & Utilities: Gas hot water system, underfloor vented gas heating, ceiling fans in bedrooms and on back deck. Separate laundry with washer and dryer. Security cameras both front and back. Garage: Is used for tools and bike storage rather than cars. Parking is available in driveway. Bicycles available to guests including e-bike and gravel bike. Both have racks so could be used for commuting. Location Highlights: Walk to cafes, bars, pubs, supermarkets, and shops. Eastwood, (15-minute walk is known for Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. Macquarie Centre (large shopping centre) is one stop on metro from Epping. Chatswood, Crows Nest, North Sydney Barangaroo and city are all easily accessible. Access to car (Subaru Outback) is negotiable.
