Our comfortable and well-maintained home is located in the family-friendly Edgewood Waterfront neighborhood (considered a Rhode Island gem) and is just around the corner from a beautiful walk along Narragansett Bay. It's hard to believe that downtown Providence is just an eight-minute drive away. Also nearby is Roger Williams Park, with Japanese gardens, a greenhouse, a natural history museum, a planetarium, a zoo, several lakes, and a three-mile walking path. The tiny but charming Pawtuxet Village—just a seven-minute walk away--has several lovely coffee shops, stores, restaurants, and businesses. If you don't have a car, there's a bus stop just a block away, and a regular schedule of buses can take you into downtown Providence. You'll also be welcome to use our two bikes. Our home includes a fully-equipped kitchen, a sunroom, a backyard deck and garden, and a fully-furnished basement with a smart TV, air-hockey table, and laundry room. Two offices — each with a wired printer — make working from home a pleasure. Nearly every room in the house is lined with books, and there is a music collection of hundreds of CDs. Recent upgrades to our home include a new refrigerator, an induction stove, new gutters and roof, a new deck, and new solar panels. All appliances are in great working condition. A professional housekeeping team cleans the house every four weeks. Most important to us is that any renter will enjoy taking care of our charming cat Roxy, an indoor/house cat. Her needs are simple. An older cat, Roxy often sleeps during the late morning into the afternoon, and is most active in the early morning, late afternoon and evening. She is fed 2-3 times a day, depending on her appetite & activity level. Roxy is a wonderful companion and can be quite affectionate and lively, and she loves to be petted. She is highly observant, vocal, and intelligent, and she enjoys "conversations" with a call-and-response rhythm (we ask questions, and she supplies "answers"). Although Roxy can be shy at first, she will reward a few days of patience with friendliness. Her breed (Tonkinese) is hypoallergenic, and she doesn't shed as much as other cats do. In short, our home is ideal for any cat-loving scholar who is looking for a quiet neighborhood, easy access to a fabulous nearby city, and appreciates stunning waterfront walks.
