Description
We are looking for single or couple for a quiet retreat in Vermont. We are a family of three. We live on the upper floor. The apartment for rent is the lower floor with a separate entrance. I'm a philosopher. My wife works for a local non-profit and our child is just beginning high school. Montpelier is a great place to finish a book, a paper, a novel, do some research, collect yourself, or just relax. We take care of the rest. This smallest capital city in the US has good amenities: a cooperative supermarket, healthy foods, cafes and restaurants, farmer's market, and an arthouse cinema. The regional hospital, shopping, and gym with an indoor pool is on the outskirts of town. There is a city pool next to the nature center, and many places to swim and hike close by. Groomed nordic skiing within city limits and downhill skiing is not far. It is a fine location for road and mountain biking. There is a park and forest in the center of Montpelier, great for walking, hiking, running and x-country skiing in winter. Probably the closest you can get to a Swiss town this side of the atlantic, and within easy reach of Boston, Montreal and New York.

Comments: We are open to a regular weekly rental beginning in April 2027. Separate apartment with private entry, one dedicated off-street parking spot, street parking too. Private and quiet, but in walking distance of amenities (highly unusual for Vermont).
