My home is a quiet, ground floor flat - a tranquil space filled with plants and books - that is close to the sea and within walking distance of all the city amenities. It is a traditional Edinburgh tenement (built c. 1890) with high ceilings and sash windows which overlook a garden. The garden is communal and shared with the other tenants in the building but is rarely used by others. The apartment is the perfect size for two people and can sleep up to four (sofabed in the living room). I have lived here for four years and love the space. There is a bright, airy bedroom with a king size, comfortable bed, and a separate home office with desk and monitor, if you need to work while you're here. There is a living room with a working fireplace and large cosy sofa, a Smart TV, record player and a dining table with four chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, grill, microwave, 4 hobs, washing machine, traditional drying rack, and a combined fridge freezer. I have a very efficient shower with great water pressure and bathroom with underfloor heating and bath/shower. Leith is a vibrant, coastal urban district of North Edinburgh. My home is a short walk away from the Shore, with fantastic pubs, restaurants and cafes, and bustling Leith Walk is close by. There are lots of beautiful parks and green walkways nearby and the seafront is just a short stroll away. It is easy access to the city centre, 30 minutes by foot or there are lots of buses from right outside the front door. There are direct buses to the university. It's a safe, family-friendly neighbourhood and on street parking is available. There are gorgeous cafes, restaurants and shops all within walking distance that I would be happy to recommend if you would like any tips - and some beautiful natural spots for those who like to explore. The Botanic Gardens, the Water of Leith riverside walkway and the beach at Wardie Bay are my favourites.
