I'm a professional in my late 40s, originally from Europe and have lived in the US for 10 years. I moved to Vermont 4 years ago after retiring from a corporate job and starting my own online consulting business. I help international startups launch medical and environmental high tech products. It's been an absolute privilege to live in my beautiful home in quiet Vermont and be able to work remotely on something that is meaningful and rewarding. I am traveling to Europe with my partner for business and pleasure this summer and renting out my place so someone can use it and enjoy it. I am looking for a mature, dependable person or couple, who will treat the home as if it's theirs and who will see the beauty in the incredible surroundings. The place will ground and center you if you are of balance due to its healing quality. The gurgling of the brook, the birds singing in the yard and the absolute stillness at night, are things I truly cherish and wish to share. The place is ideal for someone who needs to minimize distractions to get a writing or arts project done or who just needs to get away from it all and hide in the woods. Surrounded by 5 acres of land, with a beautiful yard in the middle of the forest, the country home is a nature lover's paradise. The rustic wooden house has two open floors. A combined bedroom and office space upstairs offers a queen size bed and multiple windows with views into the yard, forest and brook. The bathroom downstairs has a shower and bathtub, sink and toilet. The ground floor is divided into a living space with two sofas and views into the forest and an open kitchen and a dining room. The kitchen has a gas stove, a kettle for making tea and coffee and a large sink. There is a French press for coffee and an espresso machine. There is no dishwasher. Laundry and dryer are in the basement. A heat pump keeps the air cool and dry in the humid Vermont summer months. The property has several smaller structures, a tool shed that can be converted to a yoga studio, a barn that serves as a garage and a smaller shed that can be used for trash and storage. The 5 acres of land invite for strolls through the meadow and forest or for a quick dip in the stream followed by a rinse in the outdoor shower. The internet line is fast enough for video calls and Netflix streaming, but no landline phone service and the cellular network is patchy. I use wifi calling with AT&T and it works reliably. There is wildlife around the house and you'll hear an owl at night and mice come into the basement and roof. Tenants need to make sure to keep the traps in the basement loaded. There are several towns within a 30min drive for shopping and dining, plenty of hiking trails in the immediate neighborhood and multiple pristine swimming holes in the area.
