We’re looking for someone to stay in our Harlem brownstone for one week at the end of June/beginning of July, and someone for about two weeks in August while we’re away. It’s a house we love and care a lot about , full of original details, quiet corners, and lived-in comfort. We’re offering it for $100/day (utilities and WiFi included), which is much lower than we’d normally ask, because what matters most to us is finding someone who’s the right fit. The house is a full brownstone on a beautiful, tree-lined block in Central Harlem (132nd Street). The neighborhood has real character, friendly neighbors, wide sidewalks, big trees, and easy access to the 2/3 and A/B/C/D trains. You’re close to parks, coffee shops, Harlem restaurants, and not far from Columbia or City College. Inside, the house has high ceilings, original woodwork, and lots of space to stretch out. There’s a big kitchen, a few bedrooms, plenty of light, and room to work, read, or relax. It’s a peaceful space, and we’re hoping to find someone who’ll feel at home here. We have three male cats. They’re shy at first, not aggressive at all, and easy to care for. They tend to keep to themselves but are affectionate in their own quiet ways once they get to know you. We also have a backyard and plants on the deck. In the summer, especially during hot stretches, they need regular watering, often daily. It’s not a huge time commitment, but it does require attention. If you’re someone who enjoys that kind of routine or already cares for plants, we’d feel good leaving them in your hands. Our regular housekeeper is available if you'd like help during your stay. You’d just need to arrange that with her directly. We’re hoping to find someone calm, responsible, and respectful , someone who’ll look after the house, the cats, and the plants with care. If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to reach out and tell us a bit about yourself. We’re happy to answer questions or chat more.

The City College of New York
Harlem
Comments: Located on a quiet, tree-lined block in historic Central Harlem. Close to parks, express trains, cafes, and cultural landmarks. A vibrant, welcoming neighborhood with deep roots and easy access to Columbia, City College, and downtown.
Comments: $1,200, incl. utilities/WiFi, in exchange for caring for 3 cats and watering the garden. Quiet, comfortable home. Our housekeeper can come by during your stay if you'd like to arrange a visit or two directly with her.
We have three male cats — all shy, gentle, and low-maintenance. They warm up slowly but are sweet once they feel comfortable.
We’re hoping for a plant lover — the garden and indoor plants need regular care, especially in the summer heat. It’s part of what makes the home feel good, and it matters a lot to us.

Comments: We’ll be away those dates in July and again in August, and are looking for someone to stay in the home during that time. In addition to enjoying the space, we’re hoping they can care for our three friendly cats and water the garden regularly.
