Welcome to my home, a light-filled loft nestled in the heart of San Francisco’s Civic Center. I live here full-time and love it deeply, and while I’m away traveling, I hope to share the space with someone who will appreciate its charm, character, and unbeatable location as much as I do. The loft is located in a beautiful historic building with tall ceilings and windows that flood the space with natural light throughout the day. It’s designed for calm, comfort, and creativity — ideal for writers, researchers, artists, or anyone seeking an inspiring place to land during a sabbatical, extended project, or creative retreat. The space is fully furnished and thoughtfully equipped, with a kitchen, dining area, work area, and cozy sleeping space. It’s set up for extended stays and solo or couple living. There’s in-building laundry, secure bike parking, elevator access, and a rooftop open to residents (perfect for fresh air, views, or a quiet moment in the sun). Smoking is permitted on the rooftop but not inside the unit. Location, Location — and Culture What truly sets this home apart is its centrality. You’ll be steps from BART, the F streetcar, and multiple bus lines that take you anywhere in the city with ease. You can walk to the Opera, Ballet, Symphony, Orpheum Theater, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Main Library, and the Asian Art Museum. There’s a twice-weekly farmers market at UN Plaza and a world-class bakery literally downstairs. This neighborhood is the city’s cultural heartbeat, rich with history and creativity. And like many downtown urban centers, it’s also a neighborhood in transition. You’ll encounter the full spectrum of San Francisco life here, from street vendors and activists to visible homelessness and open-air challenges. If you’re someone who feels at home in complex, real city environments, you’ll love being here. Who This Home Is For This space is best suited for thoughtful, respectful guests who appreciate beauty, quiet, and intentional living. If you're an academic on sabbatical, a professional relocating temporarily, a creative working remotely, or simply someone who wants to live like a local in San Francisco, this home may be the perfect fit. Please note: by booking this home, you agree to honor the building’s CC&Rs and community guidelines. These are simple, commonsense rules that keep the space peaceful and enjoyable for everyone, including quiet hours, no smoking indoors, and respectful use of shared areas.
