Lodger Accommodation Details Hello, we are Joe, 81, (retired lecturer) and Fiona, 72 (both very fit and active!), who works part time. We have lived in our beautiful, semi-detached Victorian house, within the Lee conservation area, for 40 years and have had lodgers for 29 years. Our street is friendly, and we have very helpful neighbours. We have a large, quiet, and lovely garden which can be seen from the room we are advertising. The room is a small double, with adjacent private toilet and wash hand basin. The room is furnished with a bed, small bedside table and drawers, dresser, cupboard, desk, and chair. There is a separate shower room and toilet (which is downstairs). Bedding can be provided if needed, but we would prefer lodgers to use their own.. We would clean the toilet and shower room, whilst the lodger would be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the bedroom and adjacent toilet. We have a spacious and airy kitchen, with bifold doors opening onto the attractive garden, which can be used at any time, though we often cook between 5.30 - 6:30pm. There is a second fridge and freezer, mostly for the use of the lodger, together with a shared washing machine. We are happy to negotiate the use of kitchen crockery, utensils etc. There is also a large living room office with comfy chairs which can be used by the loger. We have a separate living room where lodgers sometimes come and watch tv or chat with us. Our location has excellent public transport links, lying between three train stations: Lee station (8 min walk) and Hither Green station (10 min walk) - both going to London Bridge (11 mins), Charing Cross (20 mins), and Cannon Street (19 mins); Blackheath Station (15 min walk) - going to Victoria (30 mins). The DLR in Lewisham can be reached on foot in 20 mins, or by frequent buses in 10 mins. The M25 can be reached by car, via the A20, in approximately 20 minutes. Car parking is easy outside, but is metered for 2 hours every weekday. A bike can be covered and locked to the house in the side passageway of our semi-detached house. We live in a quiet street which is a school road, so has limited vehicle access weekdays in the morning and afternoon. There is a large Sainsburys supermarket, with a parcel collection point, in the adjacent road and many good eating places and pubs locally. There is a lovely park 4 mins away with a cafe and tennis courts. There are a couple of gyms nearby. We are looking for a respectful long term lodger to join us for at least one month, but preferably longer. We prefer the lodger not to work from home for the majority of the time. We have good WiFi. We have 4 adult children and ( 2 grandchildren), three of whom live in the southeast and one in Thailand, who visit every now and again, but mostly at the weekend. We tend to rise fairly early and go to bed early, but the lodger can do what they please, although we are grateful for quiet and respectful lodgers! We are pescatarians who are extremely concerned about the climate emergency and the general environment. We buy as few new things as possible, with the motto: reduce, reuse, remake! We try to avoid chemicals in the house and would be grateful if the tenant would do likewise. We garden organically. It is important to us that we find a lodger who would share our general outlook. Bills will be included in the price if usage is in moderation and common sense is applied. Feel free to ask any questions!
