We are a family of educators from New York that has been lucky to call mid-coast Maine home during the summers. This newly renovated property is in an amazing neighborhood and walkable to the entire island. Cribstone Bridge is 5 minutes for great views and painting enthusiasts. Nature abounds and Harpswell is a community that while close to Portland (45 minutes to the airport), seems to be stuck in the "old" Maine of yesterday. Do you want a peaceful and quiet location (ideal for writers) that is still close to colleges? Bowdoin 22 minutes, Colby about 55 minutes and Bates about 45 minutes? The amazing and expanding town of Brunswick is easily accessible. Hi speed internet and a Vermont Castings Gas stove are some of the amenities. Situated on a 1/2 acre with access to Harpswell Island Road. Nature abounds, the lighting at sunrise and sunset is world class. Great area for photography, biking, hiking, farmer's markets and a great kitchen to explore your culinary talents. Combo gas/electric stove (brand new). Do you want to come to a world class and hidden part of Maine? Amazing cycling, running, hiking and trails are within minutes of the cottage. Public beach is a five minute walk, restaurants and bars are less than a 10 minute walk. An incredible Mid Coast location with plenty to do outdoors. This part of Maine is often hidden in plain sight, the houses and neighborhoods are stunning. Ideal location for weddings on Harpswell, graduation week at Bowdoin is still open for 2026! Sailing, photography, running, swimming, great nature walks and lobster are all easily accessible. An incredible island with a famous Bridge to get to it-The Cribstone Bridge. You can walk to bakeries, kayak rentals, bars and restaurants from the house. Truly an amazing location. Rentals are picking up for 2026. Reserve your week with a non-refundable $100 fee to hold a week. One time cleaning fee is $200. The neighborhood is private and beautiful. Bailey Island and Harpswell are family friendly parts of Maine where people come back every year and become part of the summer community. We rented the same house on the island for 7 years for a week or two and fell in love with the people and the area. You will too if you give it a chance! The off season in May/June and September are spectacular and this house is winterized and heated so you will be cozy until we close it down in November. It is however open for a semester of two if you are coming to Bowdoin/Bates/Colby/ University of Maine in September 2026 or January 2027. Plan ahead this could be your place for the semester.
