This is a wonderful apartment in one of the best locations for enjoying all that Santa Barbara has to offer. We are just 2 blocks from the historic Courthouse, 3 blocks from State Street, and about a mile from the beach. We can loan you a bike, and there are excellent coffee shops, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. You are also within blocks of the famous Santa Barbara Farmer's Market, which takes place on Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. For those interested in cultural exploration, we are blocks away from the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, the public library and the historic downtown post office and within a couple miles of the Santa Barbara Mission, the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens, and the Museum of Natural History. For those who are visiting for work, the main city transit center is within a 10-minute walk or 4-minute bike ride for easy transportation to most places if you are visiting without a car. (If you have a car, street parking is generally reliable, and we are happy to explain all the options.) The unit is set up to be either a 2br or a 1br with a generous office space. The main bedroom has a comfortable full-sized bed, while the wood-floored spare room has a comfortable queen-sized sofabed with new memory foam mattress. The high-speed internet works great, and the TV in the living room is equipped with Roku so you can log into streaming services. The well-equipped kitchen has a gas stovetop, ovens, microwave, and generously sized refrigerator. All cooking essentials and linens are provided. Please do note that there is no dishwasher. Laundry is on-site, shared with 3 other people, and there is no charge. Covered porch with seating for 2 looks out at our avocado trees and is well separated from neighbors. The unit is the larger half of a duplex, so you share one wall with the tenant next door. It's a solidly built place dating back to the 1930s, though, so the walls are thick enough to prevent most sound transfer. We love this place, which has been in our family for three generations, and when it is not occupied by family we enjoy offering hospitality to visitors who appreciate its peaceful feel and period charm.
