Description

A secluded & spectacularly beautiful Provencal domaine (house with vineyard) for (ideally) 2-4 people: 5 s/times possible only for a short let. A 19th-century honey-producer's stone house in two hectares of vineyards, olive groves & gardens with lavender, rosemary, thyme, & fig, pear & pomegranate trees. Surrounded by woodland with many birds. Huge heated swimming pool (15 metres by 7 metres) with a lawn, sun loungers & parasols alongside. Large separate garden areas with seating & hammocks. The garden surrounds the house on all sides, with woodland beyond; there is a substantial parking area for several cars. Cosy & light-filled, the moderate-sized house has three double-bedrooms (one larger, two smaller); two bathrooms (one en-suite); a generous downstairs lobby area; a relaxing small salon off the kitchen with a sofa & kitchen table; a meticulously-equipped kitchen w cooker, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher & microwave; & a dining room with an oak refectory table for 8-10 people. Upstairs is a spacious, sunlit living room/salon. Running along one side of the house, overlooking two of the vineyards, is a stunning, shaded outdoor terrace with a glass dining table that seats eight people. Access into & within the house is easy: with one bedroom & bathroom downstairs, it is suitable for some guests who have access requirements or find stairs difficult. The house is fully-equipped for short- & longer-term visitors: there is a washing-machine; strong, reliable wifi; bluetooth Marshall sound-system for interior/exterior use; plenty of books; TV with Blu-Ray player (streaming channels are available). Cleaning can be arranged during your stay, if required. There is also a tri-lingual local house-manager who can be contacted at any time. Gardening & (seasonal) weekly pool cleaning is included. No children under 12; no pets; no smokers. Swimming is at your own risk. Beautiful short (1.4km) walk, bike ride or drive to the village of Correns, which was the first village in France to produce wholly organic wines. The local Rosé is nationally-acclaimed (& gently-priced). Correns has a few shops, restaurants, & one café (around which local life revolves), boules, tennis, & the gorgeous River Argens - famous for its unspoiled environment & river beaches. Two weeks each year are donated as separate lots in fund-raising auctions: the winning bidders come for a holiday, & the money bid goes straight to the charities.
