I'm a professor who has listed her other home on sabbaticalhomes for years. I spend as much time as I can in my second home on Mount Desert Island, perfect for relaxing, as well as hiking, swimming, canoeing all across Acadia National Park. House sits on 1 acre in an extremely quiet part of Southwest Harbor, midway between the center of town and the Seawall entrance to Acadia. Wraparound porch furnished with all-weather summer tables, chairs, and rockers provides great views for all-day dining outside. Large kitchen stocked with full range of appliances, washer and dryer in basement, outdoor charcoal grill provided. Canoe with different length paddles and life vests for family, as well as 3 bicycles come with house. Book-lined spacicous 1 BR cottage in back of house, ideal for accommodating friends and further family members, can be rented for minimal fee in addition to house.

Comments: My home is available both in summer and at another rate the entire year. Ideal as year-round share for family or group of professionals working at Jackson Lab or students at College of the Atlantic. Summer rate: $2750/wk. Year-round rate: $1000/mo.
