Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION/AREA Enjoy this unique, cozy (and very cute), tranquil, and fully-furnished single-family home in the heart of Kingston, NY The front of this adorable home faces Kingston, but from the inside, you will feel like you're nestled in the woods Very quiet, comfortable, and fully-equipped for a short or long-term stay, you'll feel like you're away from it all--meanwhile you're in the midst of the bustling and happening town of Kingston. It's also just 20 minutes away from Woodstock and Saugerties, as well as all the beautiful nature that the Hudson Valley and Catskills have to offer. The house is considered midtown Kingston, about an 8-minute drive to the popular stockade district, Rondout shops, and marina on the Hudson, with quaint shops, restaurants, and cafes The original capital of New York State, the town boasts a thriving arts scene, bookstores, and Revolution-era architecture It's also a short drive to Woodstock and Saugerties, two towns with more restaurants, shops, and antiques For the nature lover, it is in the heart of the Catskills with something to do in every season--from hiking and nature walks in stunning nature reserves, lakes, rivers, and skiing, and town after town full of charm, great food, and kind, fun people! There are regular buses and trains back and forth to NYC every day, almost every other hour until about 7 pm. But, once you're in Kingston and at this house, it is recommended that you have a car. Although inexpensive, Uber and taxis often require a wait and can be unreliable. Having a car to get around is highly recommended, especially for food shopping and getting to and from all the sites and places you want to explore. For those without a car, I have a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek in excellent condition that I am willing to sublease with the house for an extra fee if driver/s have valid licenses. ABOUT THE HOUSE: The house is small but super cute, cozy, functional, and gracious for a one-bedroom, single-family home. The bedroom is spacious and beautifully furnished. It has a (very) comfortable king-size bed, a sofa (that pulls out into a full-size bed), a coffee table, a TV, a large chest of drawers, and a roomy closet. The kitchen has an electric stove, coffee makers, a microwave, plenty of cabinet space and pots/pans, utensils, and anything else one could need to cook or bake at home. There is a fully renovated bathroom (tub/shower/hand shower) and all the linens and amenities one may need. And, just off the kitchen, there is a dining table with four chairs in a separate nook between the living room and kitchen. The living room has a comfy 3-person couch and an even more comfortable recliner chair. The living room is full of light, with windows across the back of the house and a side door to a small deck nestled into the woods. The house is equipped with excellent WiFi that can accommodate any type of remote work requirements There is a laser printer and some basic office supplies available to subletters, as well. A washer and dryer are available for guest use in the garage, and a small compact car will fit in the garage. If not, there is free street parking for two vehicles right across from the house. It is on a tranquil street and is very private, although there are lovely, friendly neighbors in close proximity. Guests will have the whole house and everything attached to the house to themselves. There is a set of stairs to the front door of the house, and unfortunately, it is not accessible to wheelchairs and may be difficult for people with mobility challenges.
