This peaceful getaway, close to forests and swimming holes, is a treasure. We offer a spacious , well-equipped home in a friendly neighborhood at the end of a cul-de-sac. The screened-in porch, large deck, and grassy yard are waiting for you to enjoy. FIRST FLOOR: Our screened-in patio is like a tree house, perfect for bird watching over breakfast. The adjacent deck includes comfy sofa and chairs to enjoy afternoons in the sun. The large kitchen is well equipped with appliances, dishes, and utensils, and is a perfect area for eating in, with bar stools that cozy up to a new quartzite countertop. If you prefer, there is also a large dining room with a table that comfortably seats 8. The large living room is a quiet place to relax and read or play games with friends. There is a half bathroom easily accessible from the front entryway. ** This is a shared living situation. The house has a guest wing on the first floor (TV room, bedroom, full bath and separate mudroom) which will be occupied by a low-maintenance, professional woman (former teacher, now home organizer- creatingjoyfulspaces.com) and her part-time son. Their Australian Shepherd will also live part-time at the house. SECOND FLOOR: 4 bedrooms for your private use. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and en suite bathroom (renovated in 2019 with glass shower stall and separate tub). Two bedrooms have double beds, and one has a twin. There is a second full bathroom, also renovated in 2019. BASEMENT: The large basement is a great place to work out (equipment available), or enjoy foozball. There is a new, large screen TV - perfect for a kid hang out or family movie night. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer. 2 car garage, large driveway and plenty of easy on street parking. AREA: Biking, hiking, running and kayaking opportunities abound in this area. We live within an easy walk of the UMass Renaissance Center and its fields, in which an idyllic tree swing affords an amazing view of the mountains framing the pioneer valley. Within the woods you will discover the quiet brook and the mountain biking trails made by, but rarely used by, UMass students. Hiking/running trails also lead to the nearby swimming hole, Puffer's Pond: a perfect place to cool off in the summer weather, and road biking is excellent, with many mountainous trails. Other beautiful places to explore include the Robert Frost Trail, Amethyst Brook Conservation Area, Sugarloaf Mountain,The Emily Dickinson Museum, the Smith College Museum of Art, and Smith College Botanical Garden, among others.
