Lovely home in a lovely rural setting - 15 minutes from Amherst

My husband and I rented this house for an academic year and loved living here. The house is spacious and easy to use - with a great mud room, a primary bedroom suite separate from the rest of the house, and storage and laundry in the basement. Plus, we parked our car in the barn, used the shed for additional storage, hosted barbecues on the patio, and enjoyed walking around the property's apple orchard and flowering gardens. Ellen and Ian are terrific landlords, and we've remained friends with them and continue to see them. They were very accommodating to our needs (for instance, helping us convert a bedroom into a home office for the year) and super easy to communicate with whenever we needed anything. This is a great place to live!

Ian and Ellen are great owners to deal with. They are communicative, extremely supportive and generous. The house is in rural countryside, very close to Shutesbury Elementary. It was large enough for our family of 5. Our kids especially enjoyed playing in the big garden or walked to school playground. Ian and Ellen provided us with detailed instructions about the house and about services in surroundings. They connected us with neighbors. They were always available for us and promptly dealt with all the situations. We recommend them as very reliable and kind landlords.

We can’t say enough about the ease of our partnership with the homeowners. They were gracious, flexible and responsive landlords in every way. Their home is comfortable and well cared for and we enjoyed our time here immensely. We fell in love with the property and it is easy to do given the natural surrounds.

In a time when we desired quietude and retreat, we found this place to be the perfect spot to unwind and think. The amenities and design of the layout make the living quite fluid and a wonderful home experience is available here. In our time we saw a lot of wildlife and the local scenery is top notch. Highly recommend this sabbatical home rental!
