$2700 per month (plus utilities) We are a pair of academics (history professors) looking to rent our furnished 3-bedroom house in Hillcrest Village (St. Clair Avenue West at Oakwood). Currently furnished as 2 bedrooms plus office on the second floor, but with flexibility for alternative set-ups. Great for a couple or small family. The downstairs is open concept with distinct living and dining rooms leading into a full kitchen with eating area. There are 2 bathrooms (one on the upper floor and one bath in the partially-finished basement, which also has laundry facilities). The backyard consists of a patio, shed, and garden (flowers and vegetables). The house comes with licensed parking for one vehicle - hard to find in the city! Fees for utilities (electricity, water, heat/AC, and internet) to be discussed. It is a welcoming home in a lovely neighbourhood. We live in an accessible and very walkable community in midtown Toronto with an abundance of nearby shopping (groceries, butchers, fish merchants, bakeries...), parks, and restaurants, including Wychwood Barns and its weekly farmers’ market. There is convenient access to the TTC (a super reliable and frequent streetcar at end of the street, North-South buses a block away, the subway itself is about a 20 minute walk). It is an easy commute to University of Toronto and Toronto Metropolitan University (about 20 and 30 minutes by transit respectively) as well as York University (45 minutes by transit). There are great neighbours and – if needed – very good schools. A quiet street in the middle of it all! We are above all interested in finding a subletter who will enjoy and care for the house (it remains our primary residence). We've had lots of success with sabbatical homes renters; everything from single individuals to families of four and five - at least two families have welcomed babies while renting!
