The two-storey upper apartment in my older Roncesvalles Village home is available as a short-term, furnished sabbatical rental. The apartment offers a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, bright and spacious living/dining room with fireplace. Wifi. Laundry in basement. Garden access. Two bedrooms will be accessible: a light-filled, third-floor master with double bed and small desk. Second-floor bedroom with single bed and desk. Third-floor office is accessible for use but I will need occasional access to materials stored here. The house is on a sought-after, quiet street, close to the lake, High Park and the shopping and cafes of Roncesvalles Village, in Toronto’s trendy downtown west end. Downtown is easily accessible by public transit, bike, or car. The house is close to the 501, and 504 streetcars (Queen and King), also close to the 505 and 506 (College and Dundas). The Dundas West subway station is a ten-minute streetcar ride away. It’s a half-hour bike or transit ride to the downtown campuses of U of T, Toronto Metropolitan University, OCADU, and George Brown College. The Gardiner Expressway is also five minutes away, which makes suburban campuses easily accessible. The house is surrounded by trees, yet very close to the stores, coffee shops, restaurants of lively Roncesvalles Avenue. Really, all amenities are close by. There’s a local farmer’s market. Parkdale, West Queen West, the Junction, Little Portugal neighbourhoods are all within easy access, also the waterfront bike trail and the calm oasis of High Park. The house is smoke-free.
