Gas, electricity, and internet come to about $600 a month Location: The apartment is located on Kantstrasse in Berlin’s upscale Charlottenburg neighborhood, close to Kurfürstendamm. It lies less than two blocks from Savignyplatz, a green leafy square nicknamed "Charlottenburg’s living room." The neighborhood is known for its lively theater scene—within walking distance are such renowned stages as the Theater des Westens, Renaissance-Theater, Komische Oper, and Deutsche Oper—and is home to many well-known actors. Kantstrasse is also a foodie mecca. In addition to numerous Asian restaurants (there are no less than eight Japanese restaurants within a block or two of the apartment), such legendary eateries as Schwarzes Cafe (where David Bowie used to hang out) and Zwiebelfisch (which the Telegraph called the “world’s best bar” in March 2026) lie just down the street. In addition, the apartment shares a hallway with the back entrance of Der Kuchenladen, a cake shop that one website (Top10Berlin) ranks as #1 in the city. You can just imagine the delicious aromas that waft over in the morning. There’s also a juice bar at the entrance of the building. There are plenty of stores near the apartment, including an Edeka supermarket a block away. Despite being centrally located, the apartment itself is very quiet. Public-transport connections are excellent. Savignyplatz, an S-Bahn (“elevated”) station on the S3, S5, S7, and S9 lines, lies just around the corner, only a 1-or-2-minute walk from the apartment. From there it’s a straight shot (4 stops) to Berlin Central Station, so Europe is literally at your doorstep. Museum Island (Hackescher Markt) is 6 stops away. It takes just half an hour to get to the Philharmonic. (Closer to home, there’s a terrific live jazz club, A-Trane, on the next block.)
