Our home is a bright and charming 1917 house on a quiet and safe dead-end street. It has a small front yard and lovely garden in the back with roses, hydrangeas, a vegetable garden, basketball hoop, and seating. The living room has bay windows and a comfortable pull-out sofa and connects to a separate dining room. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, powder room, and a semi-finished basement where we do laundry. The second floor has 3 bedrooms and full bathroom. A short flight of stairs leads to a spacious finished attic with skylights that can be used for a peaceful nap or as an office area. The house is around the corner from the downtown of Pelham with a handful of restaurants, new cafe, major grocery store, pharmacy, diners, banks, fitness center, and town park. Above all, it’s a 7-minute walk to the Metro-North station (New Haven line), which gets you to Grand Central station in Manhattan in 30 minutes, or East Harlem in 20 minutes. Many commuters to Manhattan live here. This would be a great base from which to explore NYC all day and have a quiet peaceful home to retreat to at night. In the town itself, there is a great farmer’s market every Sunday and summer activities. And we are about 10-20 minutes to all of the major towns in Westchester if you wish to drive. We are a professor and psychologist with two kids, and we travel often. We are looking for a responsible individual, family, or small group of friends to rent/exchange while we are away, offer basic care for our two sleepy cats, and respect the general peace and quiet of our street.
