A Tranquil Boston Oasis: Classic, Furnished, Quiet, Safe 2+ BDR + 2 Studies

Can't overstate how much I loved spending the summer in this beautiful Boston home. It's peaceful and private, day and night. The owners deserve the highest praise, too. They welcomed me into their immaculate home and kindly cleared shelves, drawers, and closets for me in every room. Meticulous and very thoughtful preparation for my arrival! They also went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I could possibly need in the house.

The owners are wonderful. They're considerate, helpful, and always available if you need anything. If you're all set, they'll leave you to your business without disturbing you. One last point: my security deposit was handed to me in person on the day I moved out! Cool. It was a pleasure, hope to go back!

This is a very nicely located, charming old house- very few updates. I rented it for the trees, and did enjoy them. However, the driveway is narrow, deteriorated and steep- my car suffered damage. The only decent place to park is under a tree in the driveway that stains the car with berries and bird poop. The dishwasher is not attached, so carefull not to have an accident. Housekeeper is payed by tenant but works solely for landlady. I lived there 2 of the 3 months that I paid for, was charged over $100 for a flash drive and old mismatched hangers that the landlady could not find- I received the rest of my deposit back after 31 days. No word explaining delay.

If you rent this house, don't expect to get your full security deposit back.

My father always said the only birthday present he ever wanted was peace and quiet. He had seven children so he never got it--but I did!

'Quiet Oasis in the City' is a perfect description, and on Day 1 this house felt like home. After a long day of travel I found a freshly made bed (with new pillows!) and wine on the dining room table. The owners are so incredibly kind and thoughtful, and looked after my every need.

My peace and quiet was coffee in the 'Great Green Room' (sunporch surrounded by trees), the trails of the Arboretum and many, many trips to the farmstand around the corner during corn season. I was also minutes away from the buzz of the city when I wanted to explore.

Perfect in every way. (Sorry about all those ties, Dad.)

 

 

 

 

 

I had the pleasure of staying here for eight months, and it was one of the best moves I’ve ever made. I am grateful to the wonderful hosts, who were terrific communicators, made me feel welcome, and who I hope to call friends for years to come. This is a fantastic home, outfitted with every amenity in an ideal location: at the end of a private street in an A+ neighborhood yet only minutes from some of the area’s best places to eat and shop. The rooms are spacious and comfy, and the back deck transports you into nature away from the buzz of the city. The hosts were always within reach if needed but highly respectful of my privacy, and helped make their house feel like my home. I feel very lucky to have stayed here. Thank you!!

The home is very comfortable and in a great quiet location. Peaceful, and close to all hospitals. The hosts were very helpful and accomodating at all times. We felt very lucky to have found this home and recommend it 100%.

We had the pleasure of staying at this amazing house over the course of the academic year. It is perfect for living space, backyard, and a driveway. We were able to host our family for Thanksgiving in Boston with plenty of space. The landscaping is beautiful and the house feels hidden in the city surrounded by forest and outdoor space. It is a great location to access the Arnold Arboretum + Forest Hills orange line (about a mile away). During the summer we would walk to the train station, but there is always the option of the bus at the bottom of the hill as well. The neighbors have been amazing, and with the house being at the end of a long neighborhood we have never felt unsafe. The landlords were very attentive and within reach if anything needs to be fixed. They have been more than helpful to make this our home for the last year. It was a seamless move in process as they provided us with a welcome book and several recommendations in the area. All in all, it is a fantastic house for our year in Boston. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.
