Sydney beachside holiday in architect-designed house

Hello potential guests Many of our guests stayed at our place as a holiday addition to their university commitments. Our area is one of the best in Sydney for its access to nature as well as the cosmopolitan heart of the city. We make our home available through Sabbaticals because we love the community and the people whom we meet. While not academics ourselves, we are university graduates and retired professionals and find this connection to the word really fulfilling. We are within commuting distance of all Sydney universities, and just a bus ride to the city. However, if you don't like commuting (about an hour each way) and have a full schedule of city commitments, our place may not suit you. We have also had academics stay for longer periods and work here while their families attended local schools. You'd get a real experience of living on the northern beaches of Sydney. Our home has four generous bedrooms as well as three full-sized bathrooms (including spa bath) and an additional toilet. One bedroom can be set up as a home office for your stay. It's a lovely, air conditioned space with views of the trees outside. The kitchen has been designed for serious cooks - gourmet appliances, plenty of bench space and the social heart of the house. Built on open plan principles, the contemporary home features local timbers, ceiling to floor glass and wonderful entertaining areas. The house has an indoor-outdoor feel to take advantage of our temperate climate, trees and blue skies. Even when it rains outside it is a pleasure to look out. We've also designed the house to be easy to clean and maintain as well as enjoy - from our large laundry to our Bose stereo system, reverse cycle air conditioning and wi-fi internet. We currently have two queen sized beds, three king singles and a trundle bed, although we prefer to host couples and smaller families. We are within walking distance of shops, beaches, pubic transport, schools, the bay, parks and popular cycling routes. We also have good delivery services for groceries. Mona Vale is a vibrant northern Sydney beaches suburb where the vibe is relaxed and residents enjoy the outdoors. It is the closest beachside suburb to Macquarie University and is serviced by the university bus. We've had some super guests who have sometimes worked at Sydney uni or the Uni of New South Wales and then come to our lovely area (45 mins by car to the city or 55 mins by a direct bus) to enjoy some holiday time. Locally we enjoy surfing, swimming, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, cycling, golf, fishing, bush walking and other outdoor pursuits (as well as great yoga classes, pilates, pickleball, gyms, bars, cinemas etc). There's many beautiful bushland areas as well as many beaches and rock pools.
