Triplex Town House, 2 Bedrooms + Open Sky Terrace in LYON Croix Rousse

My husband and I spent 15 months living in this wonderful home. The pictures simply do not do it justice. It consists of 3 well furnished levels, and is bright and sunny with lots of windows. The house was impeccably clean when we moved in (which was greatly appreciated), and extremely well equipped. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, and there is plenty of storage space. There are also 2 bathrooms, one ensuite, and the other next to the second bedroom. The home is located in the heart of Croix Rousse (on the plateau) and is a five minute walk from the metro. EVERYTHING you could possible want is within a short walk - restaurants, boulangeries, boucheries, fromageries, great stores. The outdoor market in Croix Rousse is enormous, and it occurs every day, all year round. It's a complete village within the city and is considered to be very special by the locals. No car necessary. As an added bonus, there is a huge outdoor deck with table and chairs that is ideal for having a glass of wine in the evenings with a view over the neighborhood rooftops. The owners, Joelle and Pierre, could not have been more accommodating and lovely. Joelle even shared her housekeeper with us. Any time we had any questions, they got back to us immediately. So fortunate to find this beautiful oasis in the heart of Lyon in Croix Rousse. If by any chance it is available do not hesitate. Calm and quiet in the midst of the city and attention to every detail make this a must. Gracious and thoughtful hosts attentive to your comfort and needs. It was a wonderful month’s stay. My family of four spent an amazing year in this beautiful home in the Croix Rousse. The location is perfect, just steps from Monoprix and an amazing outdoor market. The neighborhood is charming and we miss it already! This duplex is spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with everything we needed. Our landlords were kind, generous, and responsive; I hope to keep in touch for years to come. Our experience exceeded all of our expectations and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Our sabbatical year is nearing its end in beautiful Lyon, but we can say without a doubt that it has been one of the best of our lives, and in large part due to this incredible rental and its even more incredible owners! The house, which our son wants to "buy" when he grows up, has been great for our family of four (2 kids ages 11 and 15). Very well-equipped and comfortable, we lacked nothing in our new "home". The owners were attentive, quick to respond and always accomodating. They were very friendly, yet respectful of our space. The house is in the heart of the most charming of neighbourhoods, the Croix Rousse, close to ALL ameneties (daily markets, cafés, boulangeries, restaurants, schools, library, métro, boutiques, great neighbourhood movie house, beautiful public spaces, the list goes on...). The Croix Rousse never disappoints with its fascinating history and geography- up on the hill with a multitiude of stunning views of the region and secret passageways (for silk workers of past centuries and the WWII resistance fighters networking in France's capitale de la résistance!). Lyon also offers much to discover and view (and, yes, eat...), as well as provides easy and quick access to the rest of France and Europe. Great base for a European sabbatical. Not only did we find the perfect place, but also the perfect landlords. Mille fois merci à vous!
