This high-end house was designed by the owner/landlord (a retired Penn staff architect), with environmental sustainability in mind: it has ground-source heating and cooling and rooftop solar. It is super insulated, with high-performance windows, hardwood reclaimed floors, ceiling fans, LED lighting throughout, and high-efficiency appliances. This house is located on the 5000 block of Hazel Avenue, in a friendly and vibrant residential West Philadelphia neighborhood within walking distance of local universities and hospitals, shopping, parks, and other amenities. The trolley to center city Philadelphia is three blocks away. The house is large, newly-built (2011), and very sunny. The ground floor has a very large kitchen/dining/living room that opens to a rear deck and garden. Also on the ground floor are a separate study, coat and utility closet, and powder room. The second floor has two bedrooms, one with an ensuite bath and large walk-in closet, and the third floor has two bedrooms and a shared bath with double vanity and extra storage closets. The full height basement has another full bath, 600 sf of storage, and a high-end washer and dryer and laundry room. Pets negotiable, and require additional security deposit. No vaping or smoking in the house. Utilities and high-speed internet are not included in the rent. The landlord, who designed the house, lives locally and is very responsive.
