Florence. Panoramic hilltop apartment with stunning views of Florence

This is an adorable apartment. Located in a beautiful area, it has a traquil, inspiring feel. I have worked from home more often since I moved here! The apartment is bright and cheerful and has everything you need in it. The local walks are beautiful and the local restaurant also serves as a small, but well stocked, deli. There is a bus which takes you close to the centre and the walk to the centre from the apartment is gorgeous. The church of San Miniato is on your doorstep to give you a reference point. I have a car and drove to work on the other side of the city (San Domenico) without problem in about 20 mins. Highly recommended.

My wife and I rented the apartment at Pian de Guilari from the beginning of September to the first of December 2021. We were more than happy with the rental. The apartment is spacious, clean, and while located away from all the noise and commotion of Porta Romana it is within walking distance of major museums, shopping, and dining. The city bus stopped just a few steps away from our front door and a popular restaurant Omero was just a few steps away where we enjoyed scenic and lovely means as well as take away meals enjoyed at home. Silvia, our landlord was extremely helpful and always available with ideas as to places we might visit. Again we feel very lucky to have found the apartment and look forward to staying there again next year.

My wife and I stayed in this apartment the first three weeks of September and loved every minute of it. We called it our “little piece of paradise”. The apartment is situated in the most beautiful part of Florence, which is surrounded by breathtaking views of the city on one side and the gorgeous Tuscan countryside on the other. We felt like living in the heart of the Chianti region yet we were just 10 minutes away from the congested center of Florence. We woke up at the sound of church bells and a very polite rooster and felt immediately reenergized and ready to start our day. The apartment was in immaculate conditions. From the furniture to the houseware everything was perfect and of great taste. The landlords were the icing on the cake. Silvia and Giancarlo were outstanding hosts and wonderful people. They were always available for any questions and made us feel at home from the very minute we walked in the apartment. There is no doubt in my mind that their apartment will be on the top of my list for my next visit to Florence. Enjoy your stay. You won’t regret having picked this place as your home in Florence.

My husband and I spent a month here in May 2010 and had a wonderful time. The apartment if full of character, very spacious, stylishly and simply furnished, well-equipped (great kitchen and bathrooms!), immaculately clean on arrival and there are fantastic views of the Italian countryside (and Galileo's house) from all the front windows. It was the perfect place to get some work done (good desk/internet connection, etc) while also tying in some sightseeing. The area itself is very attractive and peaceful, with some good walks and a useful shop to buy milk and basic provisions. The bus into the city centre, which stops right outside the apartment, is also useful for those who don't want to walk. The walk itself is a good 40mins or so but the scenery is beautiful the whole way, with some superb views of Florence. Silvia and Giancarlo were a pleasure to deal with and did all they could to ensure we had a great time. We would definitely stay again if our work schedules ever allow. Highly recommended! Thank you. My husband and I spent July-mid September 2009 in this apartment and have nothing but good things to say about both the apartment and working with Silvia and Giancarlo. The apartment is completely surrounded by the most gorgeous views of Florence and also the famed Tuscan countryside. A few steps away is a Michelin starred restaurant with excellent food and, of course, amazing views. A little bus that is more like a taxi service stops right outside the door and takes you straight into town. We found the location to be the ideal mix of country and city living. As a frequent renter of holiday apartments, I have to say that working with Silvia and Giancarlo was the easiest experience I've had. They were helpful, laid back and returned the deposit back on time. What more could you ask for? Thanks for letting us stay in your home, we had such an amazing time! -Jennifer

I stayed for one month in this apartment in Pian dei Giullari in the southern hills of Florence on the south of the river. I highly recommend it. The hamlet is beautiful and quiet. The apartment windows (where you can place your study table) overlooks the gardens of the Villa Gallileo. There is, unusually for a hamlet, a restaurant; very well-known, it is called Omero and the food is superb, although expensive if you want to eat in. But, you can do take out for a cheaper price and they have a decently provisioned 'corner store' at the front so that you get get food and drink without leaving the hamlet (no fresh produce however); the folks there are very friendly. At least one member of the staff knows how to make a superb coffee. The apartment itself is beautiful, extremely well-designed and both tastefully and confortably furnished. The landlords, themselves academics, were responsive and helpful at every stage in arranging the stay. The apartment is a bit of a hike from the centre -- give yourself 30 minutes walk to be somewhere downtown, but the walk was part of the attraction for me (the location combined cool evenings -- mesh on all windows allowed one to keep window open at night -- with out-of-the-city tranquility. There is actually a local mini-bus that can be, believe it or not, booked like a taxi, but for a price the same as a regular bus, and at about 8-10 minute walk there are regular bus routes to various parts of the city. If you have a car or rent one, plenty of (free of charge) street parking. It is almost equidistant from Piazzale Michelangelo and Piazza Roma. Again, I give this rental my highest recommendation.

I had the pleasure and joy of staying in this lovely apartment for several months from spring through summer. The location could not have been more perfect--close enough to enter the center of Florence, and yet it had a feeling of being in the country. A short walk to the left of front door you can see the sweeping cypress filled hills of Tuscany, and a walk to the right, takes you past Galileo's last home and towards the Piazza Michalangelo. I enjoyed the view from the front window that overlooked Galileo's garden, it made me believe that his house arrest during his final years were not that bad! The apartment has a convenient bus stop almost at its front door and with one phone call you can arrange a ride to go to centro. A small market and restaurant nearby made staying close to home for dining especially easy. The chianti road is nearby and with a rental car you are ready to hit the wineries. The apartment stayed nicely cool during the hot summer days too. Silvia & Giancarlo were absolutely lovely to work with and I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who would like a little country and a little centro.
