As two academics ourselves, we recognize a writer’s sanctuary: beautiful views of the yard and neighborhood, a two minute walk into a Wildlife sanctuary for birds with eagle and beaver sightings, and a five-minute walk to downtown restaurants and shops. Smith College is a five minute walk; several local colleges are a bus ride away. Our home is a beautiful place to spend your sabbatical, or to check out the area, especially for fall foliage, local skiing and ice skating on the marina nearby, hikes, or a small town experience. Our home has cozy bedrooms, ample natural light from windows, and a beautifully spacious screened porch to sit and watch the families and joggers walk by. My husband built the quirky dining table out of a maple tree that fell in our yard during a storm, and it has a surprise compartment in the center with a story behind it. Free Wi-Fi makes it easier for you to get any sabbatical projects done. There are kitchen appliances and supplies to ease your stay. Come and spend your sabbatical with us! Sophia & James
