Beautiful, Spacious Home in Downtown Durham

I left higher ed in 2020 to write creative nonfiction, and my wife retired from HR this past year. While we love our home in Durham, we have the opportunity to live abroad, so I will get to write from Spain over the next year—or even two. We are looking for professionals, graduate students, families, or retirees to rent our fully furnished home while we are living in Spain. Academics on a sabbatical leave or exchange would make a perfect match! We live less than 3 miles to Duke University and 10 miles to UNC Chapel Hill. The American Tobacco Trail, a terrific walking or biking path is 3 doors down the street. We are around the corner from Forest Hills Park, where I play a lot of tennis (and sometimes pickleball) and there are pick-up frisbee games (and even croquet.) Downtown Durham is a mile away from our house, and we can easily walk or bike to the Saturday farmer's market, local restaurants, the DPAC for shows, the Tobacco Campus for concerts, and the YMCA for workouts. Our roomy 3-bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom home has a wonderful fully- screened in back porch and front porch along with an inviting kitchen, dining room, and music room/library. There is hi-speed internet, gas/electric, central AC/heat pump, and trash/recycling. Utilities, internet, and sanitation are included (with a maximum allotment). In addition, we currently have a security system and extermination service, which the tenant could choose to continue and pay for. We have done many home exchanges (see us on https://www.homeexchange.com/) over the last few years and are comfortable leaving our home, with all of its furnishings, artwork, records, etc., in the right family's care. Our home can accommodate children, but tweens and teens are a better fit for our home than little ones.
