Approximately 7 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital and conveniently located for Harvard, MIT, Tufts and Boston's many hospitals and universities. A major feature is the dedicated upstairs office, equipped with a sit/stand desk, external monitor, printer, scanner and fast Wi-Fi—an excellent setup for research, writing, teaching remotely and video conferences. Right now I have my office in one of the three bedrooms upstairs. If you want a dedicated office, I will remove the bed from the third bedroom and convert that bedroom to a dedicated office equipped with a sit/stand desk, external monitor, printer, scanner and fast Wi-Fi. The home includes three upstairs bedrooms (one is now a bedroom/office), 1½ baths, fully equipped kitchen, living and dining areas, washer/dryer, air conditioning, private one-car garage and driveway parking for two additional cars. The house provides considerably more privacy and space than a typical furnished apartment, while remaining convenient to Boston and Cambridge. Ideal for a visiting scholar or professional seeking a comfortable temporary home for a semester, sabbatical or extended assignment. 3-month minimum; preference for 4–6 month stays. I am a retired self-employed professional. I am looking to rent my house for the first time so I can travel more. I have lived in my house for more than 30 years. My house was built in the 1920's. It is an older house with a lot of charm and gum wood moldings. The 1/2 bath is off the kitchen. It has a beautiful, private furnished side deck with a Weber gas grill and a front screened-in porch with a two person round table where I eat my meals during the warm months, a cushioned electric reclining chair, a love seat and a wicker rocker. It is on a quiet street two blocks from the greater metropolitan bus line which goes to Harvard Square,Cambridge. The commuter train station is 2 miles away by car or also accessible by the metro bus which is two blocks away. In Arlington, there are three "town centers" interspersed along Massachusetts Avenue which winds into Harvard Square and then downtown Boston. Each "town center" has its own distinct character and all three are within two miles of the house. Each center has a selection of restaurants, with varied cuisines, pizza parlors, hair salons, nail spas and various types of retail stores. Within a mile of my house, there is a Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's. The main bedroom has a new Sealy posturpedic medium firm queen size mattress. The bedroom/office has a queen size organic mattress. The third bedroom if you want it has a full size medium firm mattress which has been used sparingly. Like I said, if you want a dedicated office, I will remove the bed from the third bedroom and convert that bedroom to a dedicated office equipped the same.
