Atwater Village Sanctuary – Quiet, Light-filled, Centrally Located

I am a Philosophy PhD student at UCLA. I am entering a fellowship year and will be spending the summer / fall outside of LA. My partner and I love our apartment and are planning to return to it in the new year. The apartment is one half of a house which has been divided into two separate rental units (we never hear a peep from the adjacent unit). It is laid out 'shotgun' style as follows: living / dining room, large kitchen with a small storage room attached, massive bedroom and bathroom. We built in a large office area in the bedroom (see photos). The living room has massive bay windows which flood the space with light. I spend my mornings reading and writing in this space while my partner works at the desk we installed. Atwater is homey neighborhood and our place is one block from Glendale Ave, which boasts some amazing dining, cafes & bakeries, bars & venues, and vintage shops. We are also one block from the LA river bike path, which connects to Frogtown, Elysian Valley, Lincoln Heights, and more. The beauty of Atwater is that, despite its quiet charm, it is a short drive (between 5-15 minutes) from all the major Eastside neighborhoods and downtown LA. There is no washer / dryer, but there are multiple laundromats within walking distance. Utilities are included in the price (Internet, Gas, Water, Energy). We have multiple houseplants that we'd love to be watered every two weeks.
