We are two academics currently on sabbatical in Pittsburgh, and we are offering our home to one responsible professor or senior researcher — or a couple — who will treat it as their own. Our apartment sits on the fourth floor of a quiet residential building — a true Dachappartement with the light, calm, and character that come with it. There is no elevator, so it suits someone who doesn't mind to climb 65 steps in exchange for the tranquility. The bedroom opens onto a private balcony with a view in the distance of the Swabian Alps — a genuinely special feature that makes mornings and evenings here something to look forward to. The balcony has roses that we ask the tenant to water. The living room is furnished with care and quality — premium furniture chosen for both comfort and aesthetics. It works equally well as a writing and office space during the day and as a place to unwind in the evening. Good light, good proportions, a room that inspires. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a table to eat at. The bathroom has a full bathtub with an overhead shower, and a washing machine. There is an additional separate WC. The neighbourhood is quiet and residential, yet the city centre and the university are just a short bike or bus ride away — close enough to be convenient, far enough to come home to real peace and quiet. In a walking distance from the apartment, there is a bakery, Italian restaurant, grocery store, pharmacy, bank, hairdresser, as well as the botanical garden and the Kunsthalle museum. We are looking for a professor or senior researcher on sabbatical or a visiting fellowship. Someone who will respect and enjoy this home as we do. References welcome.
