I’m a professor of environmental and resource economics at UBC, and I’m offering a comfortable home share in a quiet, beautiful Dunbar neighborhood—ideal for a visiting academic or professional looking for a peaceful and well-maintained place to live near campus. The home is a shared 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house, where you would have your own private bedroom and bathroom, with shared access to a fully equipped kitchen, living spaces, and an entertainment room. All utilities and high-speed internet are included, and the location offers easy access to UBC, transit, shops, and the outdoors (including a short walk to Jericho Beach). I live in the home along with my 19-year-old son (who is present during university breaks), and our living space is on the upper level, while your room is on the main floor, offering a good degree of privacy. Outside of work, I enjoy an active and engaged lifestyle. I spend a lot of time outdoors—biking and hiking—and have a strong appreciation for music, comedy, and wildlife. Music is often part of everyday life in the house, played through speakers throughout the space, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I’m an early riser and value a calm, well-functioning home environment. Keeping the house clean, organized, and comfortable is very important to me. I take pride in maintaining a tidy space and am looking for someone who shares that mindset—someone who will treat the home with care and consideration. We also have a shy cat, and part of the arrangement includes helping care for him when I’m away (feeding, litter cleaning, and a bit of attention). He’s low-maintenance but an important part of the household.
