We're renting out our beautiful, Tudor-style home in Melrose Park for the year while I travel with my family to do a fellowship at Stanford. We love living here with our three year old son and my 83 year old dad; the house is suitable for both. This is a eight bedroom (all queen or king size), five and a half bathroom home with a living room, dining room, breakfast room, and library. We've used one third floor room as a gym and we'll leave the equipment if you like. We've converted two of the bedrooms into offices. Laundry is on-site and all appliances are new. Most rooms have hardwood floors. We have SEER 16 air conditioning and steam heating. The house is set on a spacious, half-acre lot, with front and back gardens and a private driveway that has room for at least 3 cars. We love sitting out in the back while we grill, or sitting on the front patio with a glass of wine as the sun goes down. In the summer there are fireflies. The house has fiber-optic internet which is included in the price; we'll leave the wifi endpoints set up for you. There's a big TV (with Apple TV), Sonos speakers in most rooms. The two offices are in separate locations, on the second and third floor respectively: no juggling Zoom calls if more than one of you is meeting simultaneously. Both have up to date furniture; the second floor office has a Fully standing desk and a Herman Miller Aeron chair, and overlooks the front garden. The third floor office has windows overlooking the front and back and similarly high-end furniture. Melrose Park station is 8 minutes walk away; Elkins Park station is 13. It's then 15 mins into Temple and 20 mins downtown. New York City's Penn Station is 1h20m from downtown; Washington DC is similarly close. I very often (and very comfortably) travel into both cities for the day. Philadelphia International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport are both easy drives. Elkins Park center itself has some great shops and restaurants (the coffee shop roasts its own beans; the pizza from La Piovra is excellent), a brewery, and a community park that hosts various events throughout the year. Those are all 12-13 minutes walk away. Closer still is an elementary school with a great playground that is usable by the public outside of school hours. We're far enough to not be bothered by any school noise, but close enough to be able to go play with our little one on a whim. Frank Lloyd Wright's impressive Beth Sholom synagogue is 5 minutes drive; it's worth getting a tour. Landscaping, water, and sewer are included. By default we offer the house furnished, but if you'd prefer us to clear it so you can use your own, we can do that too. More photos to follow but feel free to ask if you have specific questions. DATES ARE FLEXIBLE: if you need a 12-month lease, for example, or some other variation on what's listed, let's talk about it!
