Nestled beside Wellington’s beautiful and ever-changing south coast, our Island Bay home offers the perfect mix of nature, community, and convenience. Surrounded by walking tracks, reserves, beaches, and dramatic coastal scenery, it’s an ideal place for people who enjoy the outdoors and a relaxed seaside atmosphere. Island Bay is known for its welcoming village feel, with a great range of local cafés, shops, and an excellent supermarket all close by. The community is friendly, warm, and well connected, making it one of Wellington’s most loved suburbs. Getting around is easy, with one of the city’s best bus services — buses run every 10 minutes during the day, providing quick access into central Wellington. The location is also ideal for students and staff, being approximately: * 5 minutes to the University of Otago Wellington campus * 10 minutes to Massey University * 15 minutes to Victoria University of Wellington The house itself is a spacious, comfortable home with a comfy, relaxed feel. It has lovely views over the valley and surrounding hills, creating a peaceful outlook, while still being only around a 10-minute walk down to the coastline. The home is very sunny and warm, making it an easy and enjoyable place to live year-round. Inside, the house has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, with generous living spaces designed for relaxing and spending time together. You can enjoy our art and other collections around the house. There is a large dining table that seats six or more people comfortably — perfect for the occassional shared meals, or gathering with friends and family. There are two bedrooms and two offices spaces. The home is fully furnished and equipped, and we will be leaving all of our furniture and household items in place, so it is truly somewhere you can simply walk into and live comfortably from day one. We will be staying in Auckland for several months and are looking for careful, thoughtful people who will enjoy and care for our lovely home while we are away. The weekly rental is not a market rent as this isn't about making money for us but having people live in the house.
