We originally converted this space to host our friends and family visiting from Switzerland and Germany. We wanted them to experience the Southern California sunshine in a warm and welcoming space. Now, we are thrilled to open our little oasis to visiting creatives, thinkers, and professionals. The Vibe & Our Family The space reflects our sensibilities. I spent my youth working with my hands, and I still enjoy woodworking as an outlet. The custom wooden wall behind the sleeping area is my own work, meant to inspire creativity in our guests. Our lives are very busy. Eva spends her days working as a preschool director, helping young children thrive, while I split my time between solving creative problems in the advertising world and pursuing my personal photography projects. I also play the euphonium—but don't worry, I play it on the far opposite end of the house so you won't hear it. (Eva doesn't like it much either). We also have a grown son who occasionally visits between college semesters. He is an automotive enthusiast with a sports car that lets you know he is home. Our neighbors have watched him grow up and tolerate his comings and goings with a smile, and we hope you will too! The Setup & Amenities ($2,700/month) While the studio shares a wall with our home, there are no shared interior spaces. We have designed it to be an easy, frictionless experience. Your flat monthly rate includes: All Utilities & Wi-Fi: Electricity, water, trash, and high-speed internet. Professional Housekeeping: We provide regular cleanings so you can focus entirely on your work. The Kitchenette: Single-burner induction top, microwave, coffee maker, and cookware. Climate Control: A dedicated mini-split AC/heating unit. Your Private Outdoor Space You have your own private entrance and a dedicated yard area. We have three rescued dogs and a cat. The dogs are fenced out of the guest's area, but the cat refuses to acknowledge the fence. Shy but curious, she likes to hang out under the avocado tree and watch the street. Our Hosting Style We both love engaging in conversation with our guests if we feel they are open to it, but the choice is entirely yours. We deeply respect your privacy and need for quiet focus, and we simply ask for that same respect in return regarding our home and our property rules.
