Our house is situated in the leafy, residential, conservation area of Brackenbury Village, between Hammersmith and Ravenscourt Park in West London. Brackenbury Village is a small residential area of Victorian terraced houses and cherry tree-lined streets with a few local shops and pubs including a celebrated butcher, coffee shops, dry cleaner, convenience store and hardware store. Hammersmith has larger supermarkets, shops and many restaurants and the massive Westfields Shopping Centre is only a short distance away. Our street benefits from being close to tube stations Ravenscourt Park (District Line) and Hammersmith (Metropolitan and City, District and Piccadilly lines) that can whisk you to almost anywhere in central London in just under half an hour and further afield, to the East End and North London in under an hour. On the Piccadilly line, you also have fast access to Heathrow airport. All London's major rail stations can be reached easily. The house's excellent connections make access to London's universities easy, especially those in west London, such as Imperial, Brunel and the University of West London and University College, London, more centrally. Our charming, terraced house has a modernised, open-plan interior downstairs and two double bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. On the ground floor, there is a large open-plan space for cooking and dining, with comfortable arm chairs for chilling and chatting with a large dining table seating eight with bench and chairs. There is a toilet and shower adjoining the large downstairs space. The kitchen is simple but practical with a gas hob and fan assisted oven, large fridge freezer, built-in dishwasher and washing machine with inbuilt drier. Next to the large living space, is a smaller sitting room, with sofa, books and a small television. This is a room we use primarily for relaxation and reading although would make a possible study or working area. Fibre wifi is available throughout the house. One bedroom has a super-king sized bed and large set of built-in cupboards, giving ample storage, and the second bedroom is smaller, with a kings-size bed and dedicated large cupboard. If not needed as a second bedroom, it could also be used as a working space. The upstairs bathroom is spacious and has a powerful shower and a victorian-style bath. At the back of the house there is a small very sunny, south-facing garden with a wrought iron table and chairs. The weather in late summer in London is variable, but we rarely find the gas central heating is necessary in these months. If the weather is very hot, we have velux windows in the roof above the stairs which can be opened and help create a cooling draft. If it is unusually hot, we have fans to help circulate the air. For leisure near to home there are the cafes, restaurants, renowned gastro-pubs and theatres (Lyric and Riverside) and the cinemas of Hammersmith and Chiswick. It is only a few minutes walk to the famous Thames path with access to the riverside with its celebrated restaurants including The River Cafe and Sam's Riverside and historic pubs. If you like sport there are local gyms and clubs and Ravenscourt Park, a few minutes walk away, has excellent facilities. Our house, despite being close to Heathrow is not under the flight path - a relief for light sleepers. An evening in the West End is also just a hop, skip and a jump away with its theatres, opera houses, concert halls, galleries and amazing restaurants, as are the capital's museums especially London's premier museum quarter in South Kensington including the Natural History Museum, the V and A and Science Museum. This is a very comfortable, deceptively large, two-bed, terraced house, that has been sensitively converted into a modern living space. It provides a relaxing home with brilliant access to all parts of London - the perfect spot for those who want the excitement of the city with the pleasure of village London.
