Our beautiful, very spacious Edwardian house is situated in the lovely quiet area of Iffley Fields, in East Oxford favoured by academics, families and creatives. Accommodation is on the three stories. We have four double bedrooms and very spacious living areas including a large kitchen/dining area overlooking our large garden. There are three living spaces, two of which have wood burning stoves and the other a gas fire. We have three bathrooms, one with a bath and separate shower, the other a shower and on the ground floor a toilet and wash basin. The house also has a well equipped kitchen, utility area with a washing machine and a large dining room. We have a cot/child's bed and highchair available if requested and lots of children's toys. Outside there is a large garden with plenty of places to sit and relax and two dining areas. There is off street parking. The immediate area is vibrant with a number of restaurants, pubs, cafes and bakeries. It is a 15 minute walk to Magdalen Bridge, the Botanical Gardens, the river and the High Street. Buses leave every 10 minutes from a bus stop 3 minutes from our house. Alternatively, there is a lovely walk along the river which would bring you into the heart of Oxford which takes about 25 minutes. Oxford has a great many attractions: the colleges, the cathedral, the parks, art galleries, museums, the covered market and shops. London is an hour away by train or one and half hours by our excellent Oxford to London coach service which leaves every 15 minutes. The Cotswolds and Blenheim Palace are a half hour drive away. Bicester Village is a half hour drive away and is also connected by both bus and train to Oxford. There are many wonderful walks around Oxford and further afield. We have a range of maps and walk books that can be used. We are a retired couple still living in the family home. Our children live nearby and we regularly look after our grandchildren. We are aiming to have an extended holiday in the summer of 2027 to celebrate our 70th birthdays and would like our house to be rented over this time. We are looking for a family or visiting academics to rent our home. Oxford city centre can be reached by a ten minute bus ride from the bus stop which is 2 minutes away from the house or a lovey half hour walk along the river, where you can visit the historic covered market, botanical gardens, colleges, galleries and museums. For check in we have a key lock safe so guests can arrive anytime after 3pm.
