Hello! I'm Guillem and I live here with my partner Tanbir and our son Azaad. We are a Catalan-Punjabi-British family and have lived in this home for two years. I'm a professor in philosophy, aesthetics and media studies and Tanbir is a translator who is working in the technology industry. We enjoy cooking, listening to music, and going camping or hiking when possible! We'll be away from Barcelona the summer of 2026 (June, July and August) and would love to find someone who can stay and treat our home as their own during that time. It's a very interesting building as the flats were previously used as offices, so we enjoy a wide open-plan space which is unusual in many Barcelona homes. And we also have a terrace which is an added bonus! There are a number of creative and artistic people living in the rest of the building and you do occasionally encounter photoshoots in the stairwells or a small gig in someone's flat. We enjoy good and respectful relationships with our neighbours and have never found anyone to be disruptive (and of course attempt not to be ourselves!). The neighbourhood is Sants, which is quite an old neighbourhood of Barcelona with a distinctive character as there were many cooperative factories and local industries here. There is still a strong local vibe with great bars, bookshops and local commerce (including the longest commercial street in Europe just steps away from our door!). The area also has significant Latino (esp. Colombian) and Punjabi communities. Public transport wise you are very close (3 mins) to the L5 line and around 10 mins walking from the L1. Buses a short walk away take you right into the centre of Barcelona and we are also very close to both the airport and the main intercity rail station (Sants estació).
