Beautiful, spacious, comfortable light-filled 2 bedroom apartment in a quiet area, yet within walking distance of the major London university campuses and central London amenities, including Barbican, Sadler's Wells, Angel/Islington, Old Street, Farringdon, Soho, Shoreditch. Excellent transport links by tube, buses, overground trains, and the Elizabeth Line (direct from Heathrow). Zone 1 for travel card. The home of an academic and a psychotherapist, the apartment is tastefully designed and furnished to a high standard, with wood floors and rugs, underfloor heating, original artworks, and plants throughout. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom, and there is a separate guest cloakroom/shower room. Ideal for a couple, it can also accommodate a third person (age 16 minimum). The second bedroom is set up as a study, with a pull-out sofa bed. This is not usually included in the rental, as it is used to store owner's belongings, but can be accessed for a one-off fee of £500 per stay. The large sofa in the living room can also be used as a comfortable bed at no extra cost. The large open-plan living space comprises various seating areas, dining area for 6-8 people, and a well-equipped kitchen with induction hob, two ovens and an air fryer/grill, dishwasher, fridge, Le Creuset pans, electric kettle etc. This area has light from two directions, including large windows and a glass-paned wall of doors to the private terrace. This provides a delightful oasis for outdoor sitting/lounging/dining, with plants, birds and squirrels. Our lovely cleaner services the apartment weekly and will do ironing, and changing of bed linens. A utility cupboard in the hallway houses a washer/dryer, and a heated drying rack is available. The property is situated on the first floor of a small four-storey building, of ten apartments converted from a warehouse building in the late 1990s. It has six steps up from the lobby to access the lift. Common parts are cleaned twice weekly. The block was previously home to architect Zaha Hadid. In 2024 Clerkenwell was named as the best London area to live in by Time Out/BBC, and you need to experience this neighbourhood to realise how characterful and accessible it is. Boasting a history that goes back 900 years, with the remains of medieval religious institutions, several Michelin starred restaurants in the immediate area, plus many less formal dining options and coffee houses, it has everything you need on your doorstep for a memorable London stay. The area is a mix of residential and creative workspaces/showrooms, particularly for architecture, furniture, design, media and technology. It hosts the international Clekenwell Design Week each May.
