Description

I am renting my lovely one‑bedroom flat in Hoxton, central London. Ideal for 1 single person, but can also accommodate a couple. The flat is located on the 5th floor of a Victorian building, close to shops, a cinema, the Barbican Centre, and public transportation. There is a great pub that makes amazing sourdough pizza just five minutes away. The canal (Regent’s Canal), Victoria Park, and Broadway Market are also nearby. It is a 15‑minute walk from Old Street (Northern line) and a 10‑minute walk to Hoxton (Overground). It is a 20‑minute walk to Liverpool Street (Elizabeth line, local trains…). The flat is in central London and close to Shoreditch, so there are many vibrant cafés and restaurants around, yet it is in a very calm area. It is two tube stops from St Pancras and the British Library. There is a local library three minutes away, and another excellent library at the Barbican Centre. You enter the flat through a small vestibule (Picture 2), which opens onto the kitchen (Picture 3), the living room (Pictures 1;8–10), the bedroom (Pictures 5–7), and the bathroom (Picture 4). I bought the flat a couple of years ago and since then have changed the windows and the door, added flowers, curtains and cushions… The flat has white wooden floors and plenty of books and plants. The kitchen is big enough for meals, and I also used it as an office. The bathroom and bedroom face east, while the kitchen and living room face west. There are opaque curtains in both the bedroom and the living room for those who like sleeping in the dark. The living room has a sofa bed for guests, and there are extra blankets available. The kitchen is fully equipped — I love cooking and baking, so all necessary appliances are there. The bathroom has a shower and a bathtub. It is recommended to ventilate the bathroom after showering by opening the window. I would like a tenant who ideally cares for books, can water the plants, and generally takes care of my lovely nest by cleaning regularly. I would ideally rent the flat from mid‑July 2026 to mid‑July 2027, but I can extend this until mid‑September 2027. About me: I am a lecturer in Critical Accounting Studies at Queen Mary University of London, and I will be on sabbatical from July 2027 for a year. My sabbatical project will take me to Brazil, Canada, Detroit (US), Paris, and Stockholm. I am simply looking for someone caring and trustworthy for the year, and to cover my costs.
