My husband and I are long-time New York City public school teachers who have been approved for a study sabbatical. We’re excited to take this opportunity to spend a semester living abroad with our daughters, and we’re looking for someone who would enjoy making our home their base in New York City during that time. We care a lot about our home and our neighborhood, and we’re hoping to find a great match—someone who will feel comfortable here and treat the space with the same care and respect. Our apartment works well for a family, a couple, or an individual who is coming to NYC for a semester, research stay, visiting position, or other temporary opportunity. Ideally, we’re looking for a stay of about 4–5 months during the fall semester, though there is some flexibility with the exact timing, especially toward the end of the stay. We’re happy to communicate and coordinate to make the arrangement work smoothly. We love living here: being close to the park, cultural institutions, and a lively neighborhood with everything nearby makes day-to-day life easy and enjoyable. We hope to find someone who will appreciate the same things while they’re in the city. If you think our home might be a good fit for you, we’d be glad to connect and learn a bit about you and your plans while in New York.

Comments: Our home is located in one of Brooklyn’s most vibrant and welcoming neighborhoods. Just steps away from beautiful green spaces like Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and within easy walking distance of the Brooklyn Museum, the area offers a wonderful mix of nature, culture, and city life. Getting around is simple and convenient: we’re close to the Q and 2 subway lines, making Manhattan just about a 20-minute train ride away. Whether you’re commuting to a university, exploring the city, or enjoying a day in Manhattan, the connection is quick and easy. Right outside the door you’ll find everything you need for daily life. The neighborhood is full of supermarkets and grocery stores, as well as a wide range of restaurants, cafés, and bars—from casual spots to places perfect for a relaxed evening out. It’s a lively but comfortable area where it’s easy to settle in and feel at home. One of the things that makes this location truly special is the community.
